Grace and Peace be
multiplied unto you, through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus
Christ. Beloved, you are doing great! Congratulations you are on
day four! You need to take the time to thank God for this
milestone. You are well on your way. Remember, drink all the water
you can drink. Have your one bowl of soup anytime after twelve
noon. Beloved, today I just want to encourage you. You can do what
you think is impossible. Nothing is impossible because of your
faith. While you are on this journey, you will be challenged as to
whether you will be able to finish this twenty-one day fast. Will
my hunger get the best of me? Do I have the commitment to go the
distance? Here is another point of view I would like to proffer.
Your hunger is not the issue. Neither is your ability to commit.
Your faith defines your ability to win. Let’s look at the text.
Matt.
17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I
say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall
say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall
remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matt.
17:21 Howbeit this
kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. This is
a familiar text. A man had a son who had a demon that the disciples
could not cast out. The man came to Jesus who delivered the boy
from the demon and helped that family. When the disciples were then
alone they asked Jesus why they could not do what he did. You see
even these disciples who would go on to lead the church into a new
era had doubts. Like you and I, these questions were the kind of
questions you do not deal with in mixed company. Are you
questioning your ability to do what you know you should be able to
do, when you’re alone? Does this whole thing seem overwhelming?
Does your past creep up in this discussion every now and then? You
know, that old reasoning that says, you know you have never been
able to commit to anything, or anyone. What makes you think you are
“holy” enough to do this now? Beloved, here is what Jesus said to
the disciples, your unbelief prevented you from success. The issue
was never the demon, or the length of time the demon has been
present. The kind of demon is not, and was not the issue. The boy
is not the issue. Their faith was the only thing between them and
success. This means the power to reach your goal is in you ability
to believe God. Also, by the way, you don’t need a lot of faith.
You don’t need to be one of those church mothers of Zion with that
incredible faith. You don’t have to be a Pastor with years of
seminary under your belt. All you need is the faith the size of a
mustard seed. A mustard seed is so small that with one seed in your
hand you can barely see it. So Jesus is saying with a faith that
most people cannot see, you can move mountains. Beloved, believe
God and you will be successful at whatever you put your hands to.
Believe God and nothing can prevent you from achieving your goal.
Hunger is not the enemy. Lack of faith is. Have faith in God and
you can Live Life on Purpose and Not By Mistake. Remember, drink at
least 8 to 10 glasses of water today. Hang in there. You can do
this. Nothing is impossible for you, because you have faith.
Live Life on Purpose and Not By Mistake,
Yours Because I am His,
