The address to the church is 154 Lexington Avenue @ 30th Street. We are meeting at the First Moravian Church.

Today, I thought I would let the scriptures do the talking. I am led to share this with you. God wants us to be wise Christians. We should seek it and apply it.

    New Living Translation:

Prov. 2:1 ¶          My child, listen to what I say,

                     and treasure my commands.

Prov. 2:2          Tune your ears to wisdom,

                     and concentrate on understanding.

Prov. 2:3          Cry out for insight,

                     and ask for understanding.

    Prov. 2:4          Search for them as you would for silver;

                     seek them like hidden treasures.

Prov. 2:5          Then you will understand what it means to fear the LORD,

and you will gain knowledge of God.

Prov. 2:6          For the LORD grants wisdom!

From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Prov. 2:7          He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.

He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.

Prov. 2:8          He guards the paths of the just

and protects those who are faithful to him.

Prov. 2:9 ¶          Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair,

and you will find the right way to go.

Prov. 2:10          For wisdom will enter your heart,

and knowledge will fill you with joy.

Prov. 2:11          Wise choices will watch over you.

                     Understanding will keep you safe.

Prov. 2:12 ¶          Wisdom will save you from evil people,

from those whose words are twisted.

Prov. 2:13          These men turn from the right way

                     to walk down dark paths.

Prov. 2:14          They take pleasure in doing wrong,

and they enjoy the twisted ways of evil.

Prov. 2:15          Their actions are crooked,

                     and their ways are wrong.

Prov. 2:16 ¶          Wisdom will save you from the immoral woman,

from the seductive words of the promiscuous woman.

Prov. 2:17          She has abandoned her husband

and ignores the covenant she made before God.

    Prov. 2:18          Entering her house leads to death;

it is the road to the grave.

Prov. 2:19          The man who visits her is doomed.

He will never reach the paths of life.

Prov. 2:20 ¶          Follow the steps of good men instead,

and stay on the paths of the righteous.

Prov. 2:21          For only the godly will live in the land,

and those with integrity will remain in it.

Prov. 2:22          But the wicked will be removed from the land,

and the treacherous will be uprooted.

  • Today’s Blog: Trust Christ Enough to Go Public with Your Miracle.

The address to the church is 154 Lexington Avenue @ 30th Street. We are meeting at the First Moravian Church.

Today, I want to encourage you to go public with your word. Your miracle, is not in private obedience. You need to be willing to take Christ at his word. Let’s look at the text.

John 2:8 he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions.

Now we have been following this theme for the entire week. Let me make a few observations. Mary prayed. She spoke to Jesus and said, there is no wine. Jesus said it’s not my problem. Mary turns to the servants and instruct them “whatever he say to do, do it”. OK, we do not know from the text, how long a time there was from verse 4 to verse 7, but Jesus instructs the servants to fill the water pots, used for washing the feet of guest from their long trip, fill them with water. Have you ever felt misunderstood because of what the result of your prayer looks like. You are praying for wine and Jesus is talking about water? Maybe Mary was not clear. Have you ever felt that way? Here is my word to you, trust Christ. He’s not finished yet. So according to our narrative, the servants do exactly has he instructs. Let’s stop for a minute. There is no proof from the text that the servants knew what was going to happen. There is no proof that they have seen this before. In other words, they did not have to understand what God was doing in order to obey him. Can you obey God when you don’t understand God? Can you submit to him, when it seems to be going the wrong way? Why do we so often determine that my compliance to God’s word must only occur when I understand his word, his plan? Obedience is better than sacrifice, beloved.

Here is what happened next. Jesus tells them “now dip some out and take it to the master of ceremonies”. Beloved, there are some people who will only obey God, when they know what’s going to happen. These people in this construct, would have never seen the miracle. There are also, some of us believers that are willing to obey Christ, but only behind closed doors.

God wants you to obey him, even when people can see you obeying him. When did the miracle occur? Between verse 7 and verse 8. Meaning between fill the jars and dip some out. Not when you understood the miracle. The miracle happened whether you understood the miracle or not. All that we need to do is obey instruction. Then we must be willing to, without tasting the miracle, act on the instruction. Some of us would not have given the drink to the Master of Ceremonies without tasting it. God wants our obedience to be unconditional and without a need to understand it first. He also wants you to trust him enough to go public with it. The word of the LORD to you beloved is, Don’t obey only in private, go public with your miracle. Go and take it to the Master of Ceremonies. Obey Christ in all things and see your miracle happen.

Remember, plan to bring someone to church with you this Sunday. Go public with your faith. Ask several people to come to church with you. I believe there is a miracle for you, in your obedience.

Beloved, allow me to apologize for not getting a blog posted yesterday. My day was more than hectic and time got away from me. Today, I want to talk you about the attitude of a servant. Servants have an obligation to serve and in God’s Kingdom, enjoy the privilege of sonship (or daughter-ship). In John the second (2nd) chapter we see a very curious thing happen. Mary, the mother of Jesus prayed, by this I mean she spoke to Jesus. Jesus really said no. Remember, he said (in the New Living Translation) “It’s not my problem”. After being told no, Mary turns to the servants and says:

    KJV

John 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

Imagine if you were admonished to do whatever God says to do, after he tells you no. Those who are not servants of God could not imagine doing this. As a matter of fact, many of our friends really hold to the idea, that if God does not do what I want, why should I serve, worship, or even praise him. One of my friends who is an atheist put it like this, “Why should I go to church, where was he when my mother was sick? He did not keep her from dying.” When we look at this, this is the posture of a user. I will give you what’s right only if you please me. Would you remain a friend to someone who only spoke to you if you did what they wanted? I don’t think so. No healthy person seeks the affection of someone who only wants to use them.

The servant on the other hand, really understands that they are not trying to be friends and in a real sense, a servant does not have a choice but to serve. I understand, that I do not have a choice, but to do what God says, because in a real sense I benefit from serving the LORD. I am not a user of God, I am a servant of God. What I have come to realize is that a mature Christian can serve through the “no” and be content. Are you a mature believer? Do you need God to say yes to you in order for you to serve him? Well, if we look at this model, that makes a servant the conduit by which miracles happen. I am in a position to witness a miracle. Being a servant, be a mature believer and be that conduit.

So here is my word to you today, Servant, whatever he saith unto you, do it.

  • Today’s Blog:If it is not in God’s Timing, then It’s Not my Problem

Today is day number five (5) in our ten day fast. We are at the half waypoint and you are doing great. Remember; drink as much water as you can. I am already hearing great testimonies and I am looking forward to hear more. Keep it up, you are doing great.

Let’s look at the scripture for today.

    NLT

John 2:4 ¶ “Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.”

This scripture is loaded, but I promise, I will not ask you to read all the truths that we can extract from this simple text. What I would like to do is encourage you from this text. Our task today is to learn from Jesus’s example regarding timing. It is vital that we learn to operate in God’s timing and not in our emergency. So many times we confuse our anxiety for finality. Jesus was informed of a situation that does count as an important dilemma and his comment was telling. It was not his problem because his time had not yet come. Imagine if we lived by that simple rule. A situation is not my problem if it is not in God’s timing. Beloved we can do the right thing at the wrong time and ruin things.

If the right thing is done at the wrong time the result is still undesirable. We want things to be done in God’s timing. It does mean that we may have to suffer some inconvenience. It may mean will have to hear no in order to get to our yes. The essence of joy in the LORD is in fulfillment, not in getting what we want when we want it. Imagine, if you are praying for a husband, do you want a man right now or do you want the right man God has for you. I promise you, anyone who has married the wrong man would tell you, you want the man God has for you. It is always better to accept what you are prepared for than for you to take what’s there when you are not ready for it. Any good thing can be a curse at the wrong time. You can give me a Brand New Bentley, but if I am not ready for it, it can be a curse. For example, I may not be able to pay for the insurance, the gas would undoubtedly demand that I use premium, which may strain my budget. Depending on where I live I would need to park the car in a garage and not on the street. If someone vandalizes the car, cost of repair could break me. I may not be ready for this car. When I become a billionaire (notice I said when), all these issues would not be a problem and the gift is a blessing.

I want to operate in God’s timing, not in my own timing. I will operate in the understanding, “If it is not in God’s timing, then it’s not my problem”.

    Yours Because I am His,

  • Today’s Blog: Pray for One Another

Today is day number four (4) on our fast 2013. This years fast is different in that the LORD has called us this year to a ten (10) day fast. The LORD has been gracious to us and I have already been hearing testimonies of how great our God is. Please keep them coming and please share your testimonies with others. Today Beloved, I would like to encourage you to pray for each other. We need to pray for our loved ones, our friends, our family even our enemies. Let’s look at our text:

    KJV

John 2:3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

This is undoubtedly an obscure verse to decide on when talking about intercessory prayer, but it is fitting nonetheless. This text is a familiar one. Just about anyone who has been in Christendom for about a week knows about the wedding at Cana, where Jesus turn water into wine. Because it is so well known let me not rehash well known themes. However, allow me to draw your attention to this verse for a moment. Jesus, his mother and his disciples at the time were invited to this wedding and somehow we are told from the text that Jesus’s mother was aware of the fact that there was no wine. This was a problem on many fronts, but let’s cut to the chase. The text tells us that Jesus’s mother was aware and spoke to Jesus on the groom’s/family’s behalf. While she spoke on their behalf, there is no proof from the text that she spoke at their behest. There is no proof that the groom, bride or anyone in the wedding party for that matter was made aware of this dilemma, yet she spoke to Jesus. This is what intercessory prayer is. Mary was speaking to Jesus Christ for someone other than herself. You can effect someone else’s life just by praying for them.

Here is another exciting bit of information. There is no proof that the groom had any knowledge of what was going on between Mary and Jesus. If this is the case, the notion that someone must be in alinement with the will of God, or that they need to be in agreement with your prayer, is at best problematic. From this text one could draw the conclusion that you can pray for someone who has no idea that you are praying and yet God will change their situation. God can turn your son around, even if he does not agree, or even if he doesn’t know you are praying. God can deliver your daughter, while she is doing what she ought not. We need to pray for one another, knowing that God is the rewarder of them that diligently seeks him. He can change your family’s situation, your friends marriage, your parents health, whatsoever you asks for. Just pray. Believe and have no doubt. Remember the word of God.

    KJV

Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Pray for each other and believe that God will do just what he said. There is a plan for today. Here is the plan, just do one more day. The best way to do a fast is to do it one day at a time. Don’t worry about the rest of the days and how you are going to make it. Just do today. Drink all the water you can drink. At the very least you should be drinking ten (10) glasses of water. Pray from your prayer lists and pray for one another.

  • Today’s Blog:God will give you clarity. Day Two

20110106-120344.jpgGrace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ. It is a privilege once again to welcome you to this blog site. Thank you for taking the time to come a share and read these blogs. I am elated to see your comments and see your reposting’s of them. It means so much to know that this servants attempt to add to your day is relevant. Please continue to post comments, reposts on your sites, and let me know that these posts have been a blessing to you. I want to take this time to invite you to be my guest at church tomorrow. Sunday the thirteenth (13) of January at 4 PM meet me at 154 Lexington Avenue @ 30th Street in Manhattan. I want to meet you there. I know you will be blessed when you come.

Today is day TWO!!!!!! You have reached a milestone. Some have doubted you would make it this far. Please don’t take this for granted. This is a real fear for some. Well you did it. It was an effort and it was interesting to say the least but you did it. Here is the plan, just do one more day. The best way to do a fast is to do it one day at a time. Don’t worry about the rest of the days and how you are going to make it. Just do today. Drink all the water you can drink. At the very least you should be drinking ten (10) glasses of water.

Today, I want to share purpose with you. One of the main reasons we fast before the LORD is to achieve clarity. I want to encourage you today to ask for and to know that God will offer to those who seek it, clarity. Let’s look at the word of God.

    KJV:

Ezra 8:21 ¶ Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.

Ezra proclaimed a fast because he needed information. He knew where he had to go. He wanted to go back to Jerusalem. This was his burden and his dream to go back to the land, to the Temple God had given his people and rebuild. So he was not fasting because he needed God to give him purpose. By the way, that’s a good thing to pray for as well. You want to know what your purpose is and that it is birth out of God. In this case Ezra knew what he should do but he wanted clarity on how to do it. Because there will be obstacles. Actually there would be enemies to his success.

You may know what to do but you may need God to tell you how to get there and avoid the pitfalls that so often prevent success. God is not only able to give you clarity, he is able to make “the right way” clear even when there are those who would seek to stop you. Clarity means not only do you know there will be obstacles, but now you aware of how to meet them. This fast is a great time to get clarity. How do I finish school? What major should I do that will bring glory to God and his kingdom? How do I deal with my enemies in a way that brings God glory? Why? Because, I am not doing this for nothing. I want to succeed. I want to reach my goals and to give God credit for doing it.

By the way, I have great news. In verse 23, Ezra records that the LORD answered his prayer. If you ask God for clarity, you don’t have to wait for long. Ask God today for clarity for your marriage, for your finances, for school for whatever you need clarity for. In this year of refreshing God wants you to have clarity about how to reach your goals. Seek him earnestly for clarity and you will receive it.

Remember; just do one day at a time. Just do today. I promise you, “payday is coming after while”.

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ. Again, thank you for visiting our blog site. I would like to take this time to invite you to our church, In His Presence Family Worship Center. It is a friendly church where the praise and worship is sweet and the word of God is preached with power and without compromise. Join us at four (4) PM at 154 Lexington Ave @ 30th Street. Our midweek bible study services are at Seven (7) PM. We would be honored to have you as our special guest. Make plans now to come and prepare to receive from God. You will not be sorry.

This is day number of our fast. This year the LORD has instructed me to take the church through a ten (10) fast. So for today’s blog I thought I would repost this blog. It is still appropriate and I believe this word is still relevant and on time.

Beloved, we are in the beginning of our journey. For ten days we will be denying ourselves food and going into warfare for our futures. We will be praying for our children’s future and for the future of the church at large. We will be especially praying for the future of our church and the leadership of our church. We will eat one bowl of soup and drinking all the water we can handle. That means at least ten glasses a day. You can do this. The reason I know you can do this is because of what the bible says about us as believers.  Let’s look at the text.

Rom. 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

To get a real perspective on this let’s just see what that means.

    conquer |ˈkä ng kər|

    verb [ trans. ]

overcome and take control of (a place or people) by use of military force: the Magyars conquered Hungary in the middle Ages.

    • successfully overcome (a problem or weakness): a fear she never managed to conquer.

    • climb (a mountain) successfully: the second American to conquer Everest.

    • gain the love, admiration, or respect of (a person or group of people): the Beatles were to leave Liverpool and conquer the world.

In the Thesaurus is says this.

    Conqueror

    noun

They may have uncovered the burial ground of legendary conqueror Genghis Khan: vanquisher, conquistador; victor, winner, champion, conquering hero.

So let’s put this into perspective. Paul says we are more than conquerors, and a conqueror is an overcomer. Then you are more than overcomer in whatever you set out to do. You do more than take control. You are more than a victor, winner, champion or a conquering hero. You have the ability to do more than get through this; you can do this with flying colors. Just do one day at a time. We conquerors can do what ever we set our minds to. I am looking forward to real changes and real accomplishments as a result of this fast. I cannot prove it but I know this fast is different somehow.

Enjoy this time with the LORD. We are in for a wonderful time with the LORD.

Remember you are well able to do this because you are more than a conqueror.

    Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

This is the foundational scripture for our church. The presence of the LORD is a powerful encounter and many benefits are offered to the believer that would give themselves to it. The passage represents the climax of The Apostle Peter’s homily and defense of the miracle the people have just witness. The amazing point of this message is that anyone can receive the benefits of the source of this miracle. You don’t have to just be a spectator, you can be a miracle too. How you ask?

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out”. Change your mind about your sins, admit that your sins are grievous to you, and make arrangements not to sin anymore. That’s what repent means. Be converted, meaning changed from what you are to what God has called for you to be. This begins with the repentance. As the Apostle Paul suggests, while you were a slave to sin you could not please God. So repentance of sin makes you different. Your obedience to God makes you a changed person. This process alone is pivotal. Here is how the Apostle Paul puts it:

    NLT

Rom. 6:16 Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.

The Apostle Peter then says this process blots out your sins. Now you are ready to experience a seminal moment for any believer. Now, enter into his presence because there are benefits from this experience. Firstly, we know they way into God’s presence is worship.

    KJV

Psa. 22:3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

The benefits of worship are numerous but here the Apostle gives us one of them. There is a time of refreshing. He actually predicts the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the LORD. Breaking this down is a sermon and a half. I will not do that to you. Those who were at IHP heard it on Sunday. But I must make a few points. The times of refreshing yields some interesting information. The word used for times is the word kairos it suggest that God has a set time, due season, a set or proper time. So our praises trigger the presence of the LORD and one of the benefits are that we are awarded the privilege of witnessing God’s set time for refreshing. The word refreshing is  anapsuxis, and this is interpreted a recovery of breath, or revival. So God wants you to recover your breath. Our life can become stifling, hard to manage. Have you ever felt like all I need is some time to just breathe. Get your bearings. I don’t want anyone to live for me, but if I could just catch my breath, I could fight my own battles. If I could get a moment to recover my breath I can make my own way. God says, he wants you to recover your breath. The other word you can use for refreshing is revival. God says this is the time for revival. He wants to revive you. Do you need a revival? Our lives can be of such that we realize that we used to be alive. We used to take on life, now my life, my passion, my existence seems to be on life support. God says revival belongs to you. Get into his presence. You need a revival.

Beloved, tomorrow we begin our ten day fast. We will be having one bowl of soup and all the water you can drink. make sure you drink at least 10 to 12 glasses of water a day. Do what you can to take the toxins out of your body, such as a colonic (colon therapy) or take a good laxative to flush toxins out of your body. Have your soup after 12 noon. Make your prayer list and pray using your prayer lists. You want to pray for specific things you would like God to do in 2013. I am looking forward to hearing many testimonies.

Remember, please make plans to join us on Sunday. This week I want to talk on the subject,  “where your miracles are found”. You want to be there.

  • Through Faith In His Name

Grace and Peace be multiplied unto you, through the knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ. Beloved, allow me to thank you for visiting this blog site and allow

    20110106-120344.jpg

ing me speak life to you in this manner. Thank you for your comments and for reposting the blogs as you feel led. I so appreciate the love. Today’s posting was late and I apologize. My day has been extremely hectic, but I do resolve to do better. Pray for me. Today allow me to encourage you. You can get what you need through faith in his name. Let’s look
    at the text:

    KJV

Acts 3:16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

    NLT
Acts 3:16 ¶ “Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.

Today I want you to know that God is telling us that we, today, this week, this year, we will get what we need through faith in his name. There is power in the name of Jesus and this passage allows us to look at what is available. Also it teaches us of how important it is to give God credit. At this point in the text, Peter is preaching and giving an explanation for this miracle. Some thought that he would proffer some difficult reason why this miracle has happened. Maybe give them some biological/medical reason for this event. The proverbial “what had happened was”.

The Apostle proffers this simple, almost comical explanation for this miraculous event. Belief in his name. Even today, when we look over our own lives and try to come up with some postulation regarding some facet of success in our lives. We invariably have to conclude that God really is the reason for our success. Faith in God is the reason that something that could not have been done all our life, happened with a word. Let’s think about this. What has eluded you all your life. Actual problems that have physical ramifications are resolved by faith.

Pastor Peter words it rather interestingly, he said through faith achieved what no medical practitioner could achieve. Through faith that which was defined as bad luck, the way things are, the way I was born is turned into a testimony. But we need to realize the admonition of the Apostle, through faith. Our miracles come through faith. We cannot be on the other side of faith looking in. We need to go through the process of faith. Faith means we need to expect the unreasonable. Some things we have no reason to believe God for. Some things make sense to just deal with. Faith looks at what makes sense and says I believe God anyway, today, now. Remember the text, not only did the man who was born lame know he was lame, the entire community knew he was lame.

Are you ready to defy logic and believe God? Not only do you know the limitation of your circumstance but also the entire community knows what you cannot do, but also here is the word of the LORD for you today, Through Faith anything can happen. Anything you need, anything you want from God can happen through faith. Believe the unbelievable and expect the un-expectable.

The Year of Refreshing. Today God is offering a refreshing of your faith.

Plan to bring someone with you to church. I look forward to seeing you all tonight at bible study and on Sunday the 13th of January 2013. I am looking for you.

  • Your mistakes are not Final. What man has killed God hath raised up.

20110106-120344.jpgGrace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord. Today, I just wanted to give you a short word that I hope will encourage you. I want to continue to glean some truths from the third chapter of Acts. Beloved, God can and will raise what man has killed. Let’s look at the text.

    In the King James Version:

Acts 3:15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

    In the New Living Translation:

Acts 3:15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. And we are witnesses of this fact!

When the people saw the man who was born lame, healed, it caused quite a stir. The people began to make inquiries and it led to an opportunity for Peter to address them and give a defense for this miracle. One of the interesting things about this defense of the miracle is that it includes a rebuke from the Pastor. Pastor Peter could have just offered a happy feely message, but when hearing from God it is always important to hear the whole truth. Sometimes it means we need to hear the good with the bad. Yes, the lame man was healed, but he was healed by the Messiah that you killed. We do have the propensity to kill what is important to us. Verse 17 tells us that this was done through ignorance. So our ignorance has caused, and can cause us to kill some things in our lives that are actually important.

Here’s the good news, that which man has killed, God has raised from the dead. Beloved, we kill dreams, we kill relationships with good people who have done nothing wrong. Some of us have lost jobs, even careers through our ignorance. God can raise what we have killed. I declare those dreams are no longer dead in Jesus name. I stand with the Apostle Peter and decree “And we are witnesses of this fact”. I have seen God resurrect dead things that I needed and healed situations that needed to be healed and he can do the same for you.

God can also raise what others have killed and you can be the better for it. The lame man, was not accused of the mob mentality that led to the death of Jesus, but it was through faith in his name that he was healed. So even what other people have killed, God can and will raise up.

You have possibility because the mistakes of your past are not final. God has raised up what man has killed and you are healed. Healed in your relationships, in your body, in your finance, in your ability to dream and succeed.

Remember, God is able. Live life on purpose and not by mistake. Plan now to bring someone to church with you. Which ever church you are blessed to be a part of, don’t come by yourself. Meet someone there, or bring them with you. There is a blessing that God promises to those that will obey and believe him.

    King James Version:

John 14:12 ¶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

John 14:15 ¶ If ye love me, keep my commandments.

    John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

This year 2013, is the year of refreshing. Be refreshed in the knowledge that God has raised up what man has killed. Believe God.
