Today’s blogger is not a guest. Pastor Dorothy has been encouraging us through her writing for many years. I am always grateful for her submissions. Thank you, Pastor Dorothy. Be encouraged.
I love when God speaks through nature. I feel closest to him when he reveals himself to me through His creation. The result of an encounter, observing and hearing with your eyes while being still before Him, is cathartic. Imagine having your own private sermon while the world moves around you.
Bryant Park, in the middle of New York on a summer day, is a beautiful place to be lost and found.
Sitting on a park bench and enjoying the presence of the Lord within, a strong cool breeze came and blew through the trees and flung a poor caterpillar to the ground yards away from the tree he was in. So I looked at it inching on the ground a journey that took him what seemed a lifetime to accomplish destroyed by a contrary wind! Now, this caterpillar was on dangerous ground. He could not move fast enough to avoid the heavy traffic of footsteps of unsuspecting humans and mischievous animals. He was probably exhausted from the journey and disoriented by the wind.
Just when I thought this was the end of the road for this weary traveler, a couple was walking past and happened to look down and saw the caterpillar crawling on the ground.
The woman, so full of love and eager to impress her companion with her sensitivity, stooped down on the ground and picked up a leaf and placed it in front of the caterpillar. The caterpillar inched up on the leaf and was carried back to the tree and placed on a branch higher than it was before!
Some of us may have experienced the life of this caterpillar! We may have had a contrary wind or two in our lives to blow us down! Finance, romance, plans, and goals, not seeming to come together. Maybe you thought you should be further along, and perhaps you were, and boom, COVID-19 setback, emotional setback, or just the winds of change caught you off guard.
I have good news!
Your setback was only temporary, you will not be destroyed because of the contrary winds, and God is sending angels to place you in your rightful ordained place. The caterpillar didn’t have to tell the lady where it was going, nor did it cost anything! Nothing can stop God’s plan for your life. You must keep moving forward. He will restore you, and your latter will be greater than your former!
Go, Caterpillar, Go!
